The Government of the Cook Islands has appointed Captain Ian Finley as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the IMO.

Captain Finley is a Master Mariner who is well known and respected for his common sense approach.  He is recognised by his peers as a significant and influential contributor to the debates and decision making process for International Maritime Legislation. He enjoys good relations with the Permanent Representatives of IMO member States and with the IMO Secretariat.
